Examining the current state and planning the inspection
- Indoor air inspection starts with examining the basic data on the facilities, previous inspections and renovations.
 Basic inspection
- Air temperature, relative humidity and flows will be measured at several points.
- The efficiency and function of ventilator units will be checked.
- Air ducts will be inspected by, for example, a remote-controlled camera robot moving inside the duct and identifying build-ups of dirt in the walls and possible blockages.
- The condition of the structures will be assessed by surface humidity measurements and, when necessary, structural humidity measurements.
 Further inspections
- Microbe samples can be taken from the air.
- Material samples can be taken from surfaces to identify possible microbe populations.
- Gaseous contaminants in indoor air, for example, ammonia concentration will be measured.
- The presence of inorganic fibres and particles will be assessed.
- Fibre and particle samples will be analysed using an electron microscope.
